Jodi Amendola, CEO

Jodi Amendola is an accomplished leader with 25 years of experience developing, implementing and executing high-impact, integrated business-to-business public relations and marketing campaigns. Since 2004, she has served as CEO and co-founder of Amendola, a national, full-service public relations, social media, content marketing and marketing communications agency serving healthcare and health information technology (HIT) organizations.

Jodi has led campaigns for industry giants and start-up companies, including Cisco, Intel, TriZetto, Allscripts, Medicity, Awarepoint, Eclipsys, iSirona, Health 2.0, multiple McKesson business units, and many others. In addition to her wide-ranging healthcare and HIT industry experience, Jodi has also worked with telecommunications, real estate and professional services clients.

Jodi was named one of PR News’ Top Women in PR for 2017. The prestigious award recognizes women executives who have made bold advances in managing crises, developing brand messages, protecting and building brand reputations, and creating content for digital platforms.PR SourceCode has repeatedly recognized Jodi as a “Top PR Pro” for consistently meeting or surpassing editors’ needs. Jodi gives back to the industry and enjoys educating and helping entrepreneurs. She served as a PERCH panel participant on “Go-to-Market Strategy & Sales into Health Systems and was also a  judge for Healthcare Marketing IMPACT awards sponsored by Advertising Age and Modern Healthcare. She was recently interviewed by US News and provided guidance on maximizing HIMSS in a 30-minute podcast interview with HealthcareNow Radio entitled, What’s My Tagline: Exhibiting and Speaking at HIMSS – How to do it “Right”.

 

Jodi is a hands-on leader providing strategic direction and ongoing involvement in all phases of client public relations and marketing programs. She has placed client stories in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and top-tier trade journals in various market niches.

Previously, Jodi held several positions during 14 years at CPR Communications, a national PR and marketing firm specializing in healthcare and technology. She was also a co-founder of CPR Financial Communications consultancy that focused on early-stage technology and biotech/medical device companies. In 2000, the company was purchased by Shandwick International, a member of the InterPublic Group of Companies (NYSE:IPG).

Jodi serves as Board Member, chair of the AzHIMSS Marketing & Communications Committee, which supports the communication and outreach needs of the chapter. Jodi is a member of WBL, an exclusive group of 3,500 senior executive women in healthcare leaders. She is also an active member of the National Charity League, Inc. and has served on numerous boards including the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, the X2 Health network, a non-profit exclusive executive women’s health network, and the Community Resource Council of Bergen County. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and Media Studies from Boston University.

Ted Amendola, President/COO

Ted Amendola brings more than 30 years of business, computer and educational experience to Amendola Communications. With a diverse background in various leadership positions in education, architecture and computer technology, Ted oversees the agency's operations.

Prior to co-founding Amendola Communications, Ted served as business development director and technical advisor for the western division of a national marketing communications firm. He played a key role in the agency's western expansion and business development in healthcare and technology markets.

Todd Stein, Vice President

Todd Stein is an award-winning communicator with more than 20 years' experience driving business growth, brand awareness and investor confidence for technology startups, mid-sized companies and Fortune 500 corporations. From 2006 to 2011, Todd led public relations for Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX), helping the healthcare IT company grow revenue from $120 million to $1.4 billion. His communications savvy and media relations skills helped catapult Allscripts from a niche electronic health record provider to a global healthcare powerhouse in the span of six years. Todd began his PR career as an account executive with the groundbreaking San Francisco technology agency, Antenna Group. Then, as the principal of

Stein Communications, he delivered marketing, communications and PR services for clients including the American Hospital Association, IDX Systems (now GE), Welch Allyn, Wolters Kluwer Health, HIMSS, the California Healthcare Association and Allscripts. Todd also worked for 15 years as a freelance journalist for numerous West Coast and national publications, and as a staff writer for the Sacramento Bee and San Francisco Business Times. He has been honored by the League of American Communications Professionals (for marketing writing); by the California Society of Professional Journalists (for magazine feature writing); and by PRSourceCode's 'Top Tech Communicators' survey (for corporate public relations).

Tara Stultz, Vice President

Tara Stultz is a PR/marketing and content leader with more than 20 years of strategic healthcare communications experience. She has worked closely with healthcare IT, managed care, medical device and pharmaceutical companies; major health systems such as Cleveland Clinic and Stanford Health; medical societies; and other healthcare clients to conceive and execute successful and engaging marketing, PR/media relations and content marketing initiatives. She has launched and relaunched several national and international websites for physicians and healthcare providers. With deep expertise in a wide-ranging number of therapeutic areas, her writing acumen includes everything from highly clinical physician-bylined articles to compelling ad copy to messaging platforms.

 

Prior to her focus on marketing and PR, Tara was a healthcare journalist and editorial leader. She served as executive editorial director of the Healthcare Group at Advanstar Communications, where she managed dozens of editors, writers and multimedia professionals. She led the launch of an innovative content marketing division at Advanstar focused on interactive multimedia projects for pharma and medical device clients, and oversaw national CME and sales/marketing conferences for Pharmaceutical Executive magazine. She led the editorial content for several high-profile national healthcare publications such as the No. 1-ranked physician practice management brand Medical Economics, as well as Managed Healthcare Executive, Formulary, Drug Topics, Contemporary Pediatrics, Contemporary Ob/Gyn, Geriatrics and others. Under Tara’s leadership, these titles consistently earned top readership rankings and won numerous national awards, including “most improved” from ASBPE and “Brand of the Year” from MM&M for Medical Economics. Advanstar and the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) recognized Tara for her leadership with the prestigious HBA “Rising Star” award. Her writing has earned the American Business Press’ top honor, the Neal Award, which is often referred to as “the Pulitzer Prize of the business press” — as well as dozens of other national and regional editorial awards.

Tara got her start as a newspaper reporter and has served as a marketing professional for a physician’s practice and at a community college. She was editor-in-chief of Chiropractic Economics magazine for five years and served as chief content officer of a start-up company providing web-based medical content for physicians in India. Tara earned her bachelor of journalism degree (BJ) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she served as president of the Journalism Students’ Association.

Marcia Rhodes, Vice President

Marcia Rhodes is an award-winning PR and marketing communications expert with three decades of experience in media relations, crisis PR, content marketing and executive communications. Marcia's experience includes 11 years with Accenture – five years as Marketing Manager for Andersen Consulting in Seattle, followed by six years as Senior Marketing Communications Manager for Accenture's Government and Education practice. She also served as Vice President of Marketing for Six Sigma Academy, a global operational excellence training and consulting firm.

 

Marcia began her public relations career with a PR agency in Seattle in the early 90's and has worked in the field ever since. Prior to joining Amendola in 2013, Marcia served as Public Relations Manager for WorldatWork, a global nonprofit human resources association.

As part of Amendola’s leadership team, Marcia oversees HR and operations in addition to managing accounts and conducting media training. She has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Sun-Times, San Jose Mercury News, Columbus Dispatch, The Houston Chronicle, The Arizona Republic, Phoenix Business Journal and several trade publications. Marcia earned a M.A. in International Communications from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of the Philippines. She has been honored by the League of American Communications Professionals (for web site development and a client testimonial video) and by the International Association of Business Communicators (for newsletter writing).

Matt Schlossberg, Senior Account & Content Director

Matt is an award-winning journalist and editor with nearly 20 years experience in news and feature writing/editing; content strategy; marketing and brand journalism; book acquisitions and publishing; copywriting; digital content development; strategic communication planning; social media engagement strategies; multimedia presentation development; and editing on multiple platforms, including print, online, and digital publishing. From 2006 to 2015, Matt managed communications for Chicago-based Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS), a non-profit member organization that advocates for the adoption of health IT. He was primarily responsible for acquiring, developing, and publishing information technology books for an audience that included providers, healthcare executives, IT professionals, and other stakeholders and institutions in the U.S. healthcare industry.

His areas of focus included privacy and security, mobile health, big data, clinical and business intelligence, project management, health IT evaluation, Nursing Informatics, and EHR adoption/implementation. He also served as a reporter, communication/marketing strategist, blogger, and copywriter, working on several eNewsletters and a peer-reviewed journal. In 2011, he received the HIMSS Award of Excellence for the creation and development of the HIMSS YouTube channel. Matt also played a critical role on the communications team, developing branding and marketing strategies for the Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, the largest health IT meeting in North America. Matt's experience prior to HIMSS included extensive and award-winning work within trade and B2B publishing, including original reporting and editing for print, digital, and web publications for the dental professional and horticulture industry.

Michelle Noteboom, Senior Account and Content Director

As a well-known "celebrity" in the HIT industry, Michelle leverages her industry acumen, superior writing and strategic input to help high profile accounts reach their goals. Prior to joining Amendola Michelle spent seven years as an independent contributor for HIStalk and HIStalk Practice writing under the name of "Inga" and leading the online publication's explosive growth in sponsorship support.

She was also a freelance writer and marketing communications specialist for various healthcare IT publications and vendors, including Healthcare IT News, HL7 Standards, The Health Care Blog, healthfinch, and HCS. Previously Noteboom spent 22 years in healthcare IT sales and sales management with Misys Healthcare Systems. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Texas State University.

Ken Krause, Senior Account and Content Director

An award-winning writer for his work in advertising, marketing and public relations, Ken Krause has a diverse background that includes more than 30 years of combined agency- and client-side experience. Ken has in-depth experience in technology products and services, healthcare, supply chain, consumer electronics and other vertical markets. One of Ken's greatest strengths is the ability to take complex or esoteric topics and make them relatable to the target audience in a compelling way. During his career, Ken has worked with large corporations, start-ups and everything in-between. As Director of Content at Amendola Communications, Ken writes all types of copy and plays an active role in numerous agency accounts developing strategic messaging and positioning. He previously served as Vice President

of Content Services at Tech Image, Chicago's leading independent technology public relations firm, where he spent 14 years. His work contributed to clients being acquired by Oracle (Octetstring), IBM (Initiate Systems), Verint Opus Group), eFax (Protus) and Daifuku Webb (Wynright Corporation). Ken also served as Marketing Communications Manager at ASAP Software (now a part of Dell).His earlier career includes stints as an Account Manager at Marketing Support, Inc. and McKee Advertising and as a Senior Copywriter for Meyer/Fredericks. He holds a B.A. in Speech Communications with a Radio-TV-Film emphasis from Northern Illinois University.

Philip Anast, Senior Account Director

Philip has been building, managing and executing PR programs for technology providers since 1995. Using the power of storytelling and influencer relations, he has launched new companies, brands and products, resulting in market penetration, market share growth and corporate acquisition for such clients as HP, Language Analysis Systems, Motorola and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Prior to joining Amendola Communications, Philip worked at Chicago-based PR firm Tech Image, serving in various roles over his 15-year tenure, including managing client programs, providing strategic counsel, pitching new business, growing client relationships, teaching best practices and managing finances. During that time, he served several clients targeting the healthcare/HIT sector, including NEC Display Solutions, IBS (now Iptor Supply Chain Systems) and Cleo. Philip also has worked in the technology practices of Hill and Knowlton and Porter Novelli. He began his PR career at U.S. Robotics and 3Com. Philip holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from Northwestern University.

Amy Koehlmoos, Senior Account Director

Amy Koehlmoos brings 18 years of public relations and marketing experience to Amendola, with a background that spans multiple industries including healthcare, IT, real estate and hospitality. She is a results-driven professional with proven success in the areas of social media management, corporate branding, marketing communications and sales. Having previously worked for a regional health system of 300 facilities in five states, as well as the nation's largest not-for-profit provider of senior care and services, Amy understands the complex issues hospitals and providers face. These B2C perspectives, combined with her roles at a publicly-traded IT

company, have built a foundation of knowledge that she draws upon to provide clients with strategic counsel and tactical execution plans. Amy previously held senior level marketing and public relations positions at Sonifi Health (then LodgeNet Healthcare), Sonifi (then LodgeNet Interactive), The Evangelical Good Samaritan Society, Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center and Woods Bros Realty. Amy earned a journalism degree from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and enjoys using her talents to help non-profit organizations.

Lisa Chernikoff, Senior Account and Content Director

Lisa Chernikoff has over a decade of experience in marketing and public relations. She began her career at the University of Michigan Health System where she worked closely with communications leaders and subject matter experts to write press releases on hospital news and industry hot topics.  After spending a short time in consumer PR, Lisa returned to her healthcare roots, spending 4 years at the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). At AHIMA, she drove communication strategy for certification initiatives like the association’s clinical documentation improvement credential.  She also led new initiatives to engage student members, including a career prep webinar series and a ground-breaking healthcare IT career map to advance the HIM profession.

Then, as the marketing leader at Strata Decision Technology, a Chicago-based healthcare IT company, Lisa collaborated with the executive team to support the company’s rapid growth with a strong integrated marketing and communications plan. Most recently, at Procured Health, a Chicago-based startup, she launched a content marketing and media relations program to emphasize the company’s thought leadership. At Procured Health, Lisa also launched a new executive webinar series and secured countless speaking engagements to increase brand awareness.  Lisa has a bachelor's degree in communications studies from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Megan Smith, Senior Account Director

Megan Smith has more than a decade of public relations and marketing experience. Throughout her career, she has focused on business-to-business marketing with an emphasis on healthcare and technology. She began her career at Dodge Communications, where she held a variety of account management positions. In these roles, she provided strategic counsel to clients about holistic communications programs to ensure that a cohesive brand and message was conveyed to the market. She oversaw all content created for clients, created and executed social media campaigns, and managed advertising purchases.

Megan also worked at Edelman on the corporate team in the Atlanta office. During her time there, she was responsible for developing and executing integrated communications marketing plans for B2B and technology clients. Most recently, Megan served as the director of client services and as e-commerce consultant for EYStudios, a specialty web design and development firm. In this role, she helped build relationships with clients and provided counsel on how to grow their business through increasing traffic and improving conversions as well as content marketing.

Megan earned her MBA in Marketing from Georgia State University and her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Georgia.

Linda Healan, Senior Account and Content Director

For more than 20 years, Linda has provided strategic PR and marketing communications services to B2B national and multi-national clients in the technology, healthcare technology, real estate, travel & tourism, and professional service industries. In 1999, she established Healan PR following a successful career as an account and client services manager for several PR agencies. Notable clients included Craneware, ReachHealth, Oneview Healthcare, Flo Healthcare/Metro a division of Emerson and CenTrak, among others.

Prior to entering the public relations field, Linda earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Georgia State University in 1993.  She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and active in the PRSA Georgia Chapter. She is also a member of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and served on the public relations committees heading Georgia Technology Forum 1998 and 1999, and Georgia Technology Celebration in 2003.

Rachael Britnell, Account Director

Rachael Britnell specializes in health IT brand marketing and creative and strategic campaign planning, management and implementation. She has a strong ability to communicate clients’ brand messages to drive awareness and affect attitude. Rachael most recently served as marketing leader at Strata Decision Technology, a pioneer in the development of innovative software tools and decision-making processes for senior financial and operational decision-makers in the healthcare industry. At Strata, Rachael developed and drove the company’s marketing strategy to meet organizational objectives and oversaw the management of marketing programs and campaigns tied to generating brand awareness.

These programs generated qualified leads to significantly grow the sales pipeline and provided tools to support the sales team. She also oversaw the organization’s conference planning committee that handled marketing and logistics for trade shows. Rachael is well-versed in content marketing, media relations and social media. She earned her undergrad degree in marketing and advertising at Eastern Illinois University and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Roosevelt University.

Brandon Glenn, Account Director

Brandon Glenn is a veteran journalist and marketing and communications professional, with experience in content marketing, social media, media relations and news writing. He gained a deep knowledge of the health IT industry while working as a reporter and editor for MedCity News, which covers the business of innovation in healthcare, and as a senior editor with Medical Economics, a publication that focuses on issues of importance to primary care physicians. In these positions, he also wrote extensively about the hospitals, pharmaceuticals and medical devices industries.

Brandon began his journalism career as a reporter with Crain’s Cleveland Business and, later, Crain’s Chicago Business. Earlier, he was an analyst with consulting firm Accenture.
Brandon earned a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Purdue University.

Stephanie Janard, Content and Account Director

Stephanie Janard has over a decade of experience as a professional communicator in the business-to-business technology arena, with additional background as a newspaper column and features writer. Stephanie began her career as a marketing and public relations manager for Application Design Associates, a Greenwood, Colorado software company later acquired by San Jose, California-based Semotus Solutions, a pioneer in wireless and community-wide emergency messaging technology. At Semotus, Stephanie continued her role as marketing manager, before launching her own copywriting business. A freelancer, she wrote for a diverse set of clients and industries, including technology companies SecureWorks, ITpreneurs, Cadpo,

Medita, and others in the high tech space, and high-end lodging properties. In addition, Stephanie has written for media outlets including the Raleigh News & Observer and The Daily Courier in Forest City, North Carolina, where her weekly column is in its third year of print and online publication. Her volunteer interests include involvement with the Rutherford County Humane Society (RCHS), a local companion animal rescue group, and being a volunteer radio host for WNCW, an acclaimed public radio station broadcast over most of Western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina, with worldwide listenership via the Internet.

Erik Yorke, Senior Account Director

Erik became a healthcare PR specialist almost by accident. Upon taking his first PR job, he was added to a team managing the account of a large community hospital system. He fell in love, and while he’s served clients in different industries over the years while working for agencies like Fleishman Hillard and Sabatino Day, his passion has remained in healthcare. He has used his ability to understand healthcare trends and challenges to help clients engage physicians, legislators and other key opinion leaders while also providing strategic guidance and serving as a skilled scientific writer.

Before joining Amendola Communications, Erik served as the corporate PR and Content Strategy lead for Akron, Ohio-based the Smithers Group, where he supported the group’s portfolio of companies, which provide third-party laboratory testing (aka Contract Research) of products and materials in a range of industries including pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive and more. Prior to his time at Smithers, Erik spent the majority of his career in the marketing communications agency world where he used his talents on behalf of clients such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, bioMérieux, Image IQ (now ERT), BIOTRONIK, OsteoSymbionics and others. He holds a BA in Journalism from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Ken Terry, Senior Writer

Ken Terry is an award-winning, experienced writer in the healthcare IT industry. He was a senior editor at Medical Economics Magazine for 14 years as well as a freelancer for almost a decade for the industry’s top publications. He contributed regularly to Medical Economics, Medscape Medical News, InformationWeek Healthcare, FierceHealthIT, CIO.com and Hospitals & Health Networks. He has received journalism awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (2000), the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (2001-2002), and American Business Media, which gave him a Neal award in 2007. He showcased his talents and versatility in writing when he authored the book Rx For Health Care Reform (Vanderbilt University Press, 2007).

Terry also wrote white papers, bylined articles, case studies and press releases for various firms in the health IT sector. Among the companies that commissioned his work were IBM Watson Health, Phytel, AT&T, Microsoft, McKesson, Allscripts, and the Institute for Health Technology Transformation.

He earned his bachelor’s in English master’s in Education at the University at Albany, SUNY. His knowledge of the industry’s history, smart insights and predictions will be a tremendous asset to the A team.

Morgan Lewis, Senior Writer

Morgan Lewis is an award-winning business and healthcare writer that brings 20 years of journalism and PR writing experience, focused almost exclusively on business and healthcare. Most recently, Lewis was a writer at MERGE Atlanta (formerly Dodge Communications), where he wrote thought leadership articles, white papers, case studies, blog posts, website copy and other pieces of PR and marketing content for dozens of healthcare and healthcare IT clients over four years.

Prior to that, he was an independent writer and editor focused on healthcare and health IT, creating content for clients that appear in national publications and websites. Lewis started his writing career at a daily newspaper and then business publications in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area, where he won eight feature writing awards from Cleveland regional and state journalism organizations. Lewis then joined Medical Economics magazine, the leading business resource for primary care physicians, where he won three writing awards from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE), including two Gold Awards. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English-Journalism from Miami University of Ohio.

Joy DiNaro, Media Relations Director

Joy Dinaro is a new media guru, supporting clients with innovative PR programs that integrate social media strategies with traditional media relations outreach and digital corporate marketing initiatives. Joy previously worked at Tech Image, where as a Digital Media Relations Manager and was recognized for her creativity and results in securing top tier business and high tech placements for clients. She also took the lead in client social media efforts, including setting up and managing Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn

accounts; building LinkedIn pages for companies and their top executives; developing social media strategies and advising clients on execution strategies; and helping clients manage their online reputations. Joy previously served as Interactive Brand Manager at NextMedia360, where she helped organizations enhance their traditional broadcast presence with online and social marketing.

Chad Michael Van Alstin, Content & Media Relations Manager

Chad has a varied background in journalism, content marketing, public relations, and multimedia production. He has worked professionally in communications since 2007, filling various roles at television and radio stations while studying media communication. Before joining Amendola, Chad served as a writer/editor for a variety of newspapers, magazines, and web publications. He got his start in healthcare IT as the features editor for Health Management Technology, a magazine that covers healthcare technology and policy.

While there, he wrote on the topics of population health, data security and privacy, and patient engagement.

Before becoming a marketing professional, Chad worked voluntarily to promote various social advocacy groups, political campaigns, and student organizations. The roles he filled included outreach, event planning, and live interviews of prominent politicians.

He was the previous editor for Fit 941, a Tampa Bay sports and fitness magazine, where he wrote on health, wellness, and covered local athletic competitions.

Earlier in his career, Chad penned a regular opinion column in the Virginia Tech newspaper, The Collegiate Times. He won an award from the Virginia Press Association for his work.
Outside of work, Chad keeps his skills sharp with creative writing, photography, and media-production-centric hobbies. He holds a B.A. in Mass Communication from Virginia Tech and an A.A. in Media Communication

Margaret Kelly, Research Coordinator

Margaret Kelly is an accomplished administrator with more than 30 years of experience in marketing and public relations. Her industry experience spans the healthcare, building and financial service industries. Margaret is a behind-the-scenes expert instrumental in supporting account teams with day-to-day operations.  She focuses on processing press releases, managing social media, and researching speaking and editorial opportunities for clients.

As a social media manager, Margaret is responsible for writing and distributing posts, engaging followers and linking to relevant industry leaders; as a result an EHR company gained 15% new followers and a remote patient monitoring client gained 30% new Twitter followers in only eight months. Additionally, a leading senior adaptive computer technology company added social media influence by 44% on Twitter, 67% on Facebook and 57% on LinkedIn in just 14 months. A campaign for the client’s webinar caused such an increase in registration the company had to update its webinar platform to accommodate the extra attendees.

Before joining Amendola Communications, Margaret served as the public relations agency and graphic artist liaison for a local company. In that role, she scheduled all media interviews for the company CEO, and managed all marketing placements, eNewsletters, website updates and marketing collateral materials.

Margaret is a recipient of the Home Builder Association’s coveted MAME (Major Achievements in Merchandising Excellence) Award for Best Website. She has lectured at the Home Builder’s Association of Central Arizona on website development and at ASU’s Del Web School of Construction on marketing.

Helen Basey, Project Manager

Born and raised in England, in 1989 Helen gained a BSc. (Hons) degree in Pharmacy from the University of Sunderland. After spending her pre-registration year at York District Hospital, she qualified as a Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and began her pharmacy career in retail. Helen joined AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in 1991 as a Clinical Trial Pharmacist specializing in the packaging design of oncology and respiratory Phase I-IV trials. In 1995 she earned an 18-month assignment to the US division in Wilmington, Delaware. Eighteen months became six years, where Helen was promoted to Group Leader of the Investigational Products Group then the Oncology Development Project Leader for a solid tumor drug.

The family relocated to San Antonio, Texas with her husband’s company in 2001 followed by a move to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2002. For the last five years, Helen has worked as the Director of Marketing for Southwest Spine and Sports, a physicians practice specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Now a US Citizen, with her husband and two high-school girls (senior & sophomore), she loves to hike with her rescue puppy, play tennis, travel with family and adventure with friends.

Michelle Smith, Assistant Account Executive

Michelle began her career in communications at Honeywell’s European Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. In her role, she planned and executed customer meetings, sales team retreats, and designed and implemented marketing and advertising campaigns for new product introductions.

She has more than a decade of experience in fundraising, event planning and volunteer coordination with numerous nonprofit organizations in the Scottsdale area.

Prior to joining Amendola, Michelle served as a marketing and communications manager for Confinity Management, a high-tech consulting company.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University.

Mark Tomaino, Strategist

Mark Tomaino is a Senior Industry Executive at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a New York City based private equity firm that invests principally in two markets, healthcare and information/business services. Mark's focus is exclusively on healthcare technology investment opportunities, including deal generation, due diligence, execution and portfolio company monitoring. Mark has established the “Healthcare IT Knowledge Network" website as a vehicle to share insights relevant to collaboration in the healthcare technology industry. Prior to September 2010, Mark served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and M&A at The TriZetto Group, a leading healthcare information technology company to the

healthcare payer industry, where he had responsibility for developing and executing its external growth strategies, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, joint ventures, investments and capital raising activities. Prior to joining TriZetto, Mark worked at Bausch & Lomb Incorporated in a variety of legal, strategy and business development capacities. Mark holds an M.B.A. from The Paul Merage School of Business, University of California, Irvine, where he was Valedictorian and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society, a J.D. from the Albany Law School of Union University, where he was a member of the Law Review, and an A.B. in English and Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
